You've probably spent hours searching the net for "the perfect
place" for that special occasion. Rainbow Honeymoon Lookout is
that unique hideaway vacation rental that so far seems to have eluded
you. Being romantics ourselves, we assume other people are too ...
so we built our beautiful Maui dream cottage to include those special
touches we've always loved.
You approach through a jungle of exotically
landscaped Hawaiian gardens ablaze with color ... delicate bunches
of pink and gold Coral Bell gingers, long scarlet and yellow "firecrackers"
... velvet greens ... surprise blues ... Then wander down by the palm-fringed
pool to your front door. Open it, only to find that it's almost like
being in another garden. The whole of the lower floor is walled in
glass, 20-feet high in the dining room, so nature's entire abundance
of sparkling ocean, pristine sky and luxurious plants exploding with
color become part of your decor. We can get 100" of rain a year
here, so you can almost hear things grow.
The
man made decor echoes that of the garden, in rich blues and greens,
with occasional splashes of vibrant color. Perhaps you'll walk out
to one of your private lanais and take a hot tub under the stars,
soothed by the trickle of waterfall gardens. Or enjoy your very
own art piece... a spectacular nautilus shell "outdoor"shower
- have you ever showered in an aquarium? Reach out your window to
pick a papaya or curl up in a comfy papasan chair in our skylit
solarium. Rich pastureland is a few feet away, so occasionally a
graceful horse or a very large cow may poke its head through the
fence to inquire about coffee. Their solemn but comical faces have
delighted many a guest. It's almost like living on the cover of
a Swiss chocolate box!
We commissioned a local artist to create a magical
spiral staircase up to the bedroom ... where you can snuggle up
in your king size bed at night and stargaze through huge skylights.
City dwellers love to rediscover just how bright the stars really
are in a little world without street lights. Sit up in bed in the
morning to catch a perfect apricot sunrise over the ocean. Or wander
out to one of two lanais... one oceanside amongst the treetops,
with sweeping views across lush pastures down to the cliffs... or
to the other poolside, where you can sit and enjoy the soft blue
of the pool through the filtering palm fronds.
